Sprained Ankle
Have you:
- Sprained or twisted your ankle?
- Pain when the ankle is turned inwards , stressing the lateral (outside) ligaments?
- Pain when turning the foot and ankle outwards against resistance ?
Footballer's Ankle
Have you :
- Pain and tenderness when pressing in with the fingers over the front of the ankle joint?
- Pain when you bend you foot up or down?
- A band of pain across the front of the ankle joint when kicking a ball ?
Dislocation of Peroneal Tendons
Have you :
- Pain on the outside of the ankle when you try to turn the sole of your foot outwards and upwards (eversion)?
- Pain when you press in at the back of the bony bit on the outside of the ankle (lateral malleolus)?
- Swelling and bruising on the outside of the ankle?
Tibialis Posterior Syndrome
Have you :
- Pain and tenderness on the inside of the ankle near the bony bit (medial malleolus)?
- Pain when your foot is pushed upward?
- Pain when moving the ankle up and down?
