Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic (TOC) is one of the nation’s premier sports medicine and orthopedic clinics. The exceptionally talented, experienced, and dedicated medical team at TOC provides patients in north Florida and South Georgia with an innovative approach to full-service orthopedic medicine–effective, efficient, timely, one-stop, comprehensive care.
TOC was founded in 1973 by orthopedic surgeons Doug Henderson, MD and Tom Haney, MD who met as residents at Emory University. The native north Floridians fulfilled their dream of establishing a first-rate sports medicine clinic in Florida’s sports loving capital city, home to nationally renowned colleges and universities.

Today, the TOC medical team has expanded to include 20 physicians —
16 orthopedists, and two family practice physicians with subspecialties, nine Physician Assistants (PA), four Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP), four Registered Nurses (RN), two certified orthopedic & prosthetic providers and a support team of medical and technical assistants.

COMPREHENSIVE PATIENT-CENTERED CARE
The main TOC office is located within the full-service Tallahassee Orthopedic Center, which we opened in 1991. The clinic occupies approximately 40,000 square feet of the contemporary single-story 70,000-square-foot facility.
At TOC, we strive to provide patient-centered care giving our patients immediate, convenient access to the latest in treatment protocols and procedures, helping to minimize delays and maintain the flow of a patient’s care. Patients can literally remain under one roof for complete orthopedic medical diagnosis, treatment and/or surgery, rehabilitation, and for assistance with orthotics and prosthetics care. TOC includes several additional medical units within our Orthopedic Center to meet these patient needs:
- TOC MRI unit where images are instantaneously transmitted for reading by MRI Specialty Radiologists at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA giving physicians and patients a quick response
- Division of Orthotics and Prosthetics
- Tallahassee Outpatient Surgical Center (TOSC), operates in partnership with Hospital Corporation of America
- Tallahassee Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, an independent physical therapy center
